Ayurveda calls for self care and also development of positive routines and rituals that will help bring out the best in us. Different beauty care packages are available at our centre.
Ayurveda & Menopause It is the ending of a woman's monthly menstrual periods and ovulation. It also signals other changes to the body and mind, brought on in part because the body begins producing lesser amounts of the hormones estrogen and progesterone (among others). Menopause is not a disease. It is a natural process in a woman's life. Menopause is a natural hormone (estrogen) deficient state that occurs at the age of 45-55 years. Ayurveda associates menopause with aging. Aging is a 'Vata' predominant stage of life. Thus, the symptoms of menopause experienced by some women are similar to the symptoms seen when the Vata dosha rises and upsets the normal balance of the body. There are different types of menopause. They are as follows:
1) Vata dominated menopause
2) Pitta dominated menopause
3) Kapha dominated menopause
Each type has different symptoms like the Vata-type menopausal symptoms tend to include depression, anxiety, and insomnia.
Women with Pitta-type symptoms are often angry and suffer hot flashes. Kapha type symptoms include listlessness, weight gain, and feelings of mental and physical heaviness. The type of treatment depends upon the dosha in which the woman's menopausal symptoms are manifesting. Most of the women are unaware of the right kind of treatment, diet, nutritional supplements, and exercise, which should be done during this period. With proper guidance and simple lifestyle changes they can easily avoid most of the unpleasant side effects of menopause to a great extent. Furthermore, aggravated vata causes imbalance of pitta dosha and this lead to night sweats and hot flushes. Finally kapha dosha is aggravated causing numbness, lethargy, weak digestion and obesity.
Due to the absence of menstruation cycle a lot of toxins that are otherwise expelled with menstruation accumulate in the body adding to physical symptoms like pain in back and pelvis, deposition of fat around hips, belly and thighs, tumours, cysts in the uterus or ovaries.

Infertility and Ayurveda
What is infertility ?
Incapability of the woman to conceive, after one year of regular sexual union without contraceptives, or to retain the fetus till childbirth is called as infertility. It is a problem, which not only affects the physical life of the woman but also disturbs the social and emotional life of the couple. According to some experts about half the childless marriages are due to abnormalities in the male partners though women are traditionally blamed for sterility. Infertility is also assigned to factors relating to non production of sperms or to other reasons relating to quality. Factors Involved in Creating a Healthy Child According to Ayurveda, conception takes place due to healthy sperm, healthy ovum, and a healthy uterus. For both men and women, reproductive health depends on the health of the shukra dhatu, or reproductive tissue. In women the shukra tissue creates the ovum as part of the monthly cycle, and in men the semen is formed due to sexual stimulation. The shukra tissue itself is created as part of a long chain of metabolic transformations, starting with the digestion of food and including the transformation of food to nutrient fluid, blood, muscle, fat, bone, bone marrow and finally, to shukra tissue. Healthy shukra tissue, then, according to ayurveda, depends on the health of all the other tissues in the body.
